Educational Testing Service, Inc. (ETS) is the world's largest private nonprofit educational testing and assessment organization. ETS develops, administers, and scores tests across the globe and conducts assessment and policy research to advance quality and equity in learning worldwide.
ETS was constructing a new headquarters facility on their Princeton, New Jersey campus and needed to incorporate standardized communication and collaboration technology in many of the conference rooms, public areas and multi-purpose spaces throughout the facility.
IMS was brought in to develop an integrated technology design for over 20 unique spaces and area within the state-of the–art facility including: large and small conference rooms, training rooms, executive offices and board rooms in addition to a network video conferencing infrastructure.
The key to developing this successful solution was through an in-depth engagement with end users. Prior to any design concept, we conducted needs analysis interviews and focus group sessions to determine the business needs of the organization and develop a sense of the surrounding corporate culture. This allowed us to strategically create solutions uniquely suited to their needs and future growth.
The Design Services from IMS consisted of presenting this culture and technology assessment to the client as well as a full project budget, proposed timeline and bid package. We also worked with the architectural design team to coordinate infrastructure requirements and construction details as part of the design contract.
We then competitively bid the integration and coordinated with the general contractor and trades to complete all installation, programming, testing and end-user training within the 7 month construction schedule.
The result was a highly customized technology solution that seamlessly merged with the aesthetic design of the building, met the business communication goals of the company and offered powerful and expandable technology in a user-friendly environment. IMS was also contracted for a 3-year Priority Care Service Agreement, including preventative maintenance, expedited response time to service calls and extensive user training.
