Memo from John Renninger to the IMS Technology Services Team
Late last month, IMS had two Event Staging Teams in Baltimore for multiple events with new clients. The events were taking place just after the riots began in Baltimore.
The meetings for one client were located on the fourth floor of a hotel and this client opted to continue the meeting in Baltimore, since all activities were contained to the hotel.
Meetings for the other client were taking place on the first floor of a hotel near where the rioting was taking place, and due to safety concerns for the attendees, the client opted to relocate their meeting (mid-session) from Baltimore to Gaithersburg, Maryland. As anyone involved with meetings and events can imagine, moving a meeting mid-session is not an easy undertaking. I am pleased to announce that our Team jumped through hoops and made it happen on the same day we were notified.
Truly "Excellence in Action"
The entire Team came together: our warehouse staff, production managers, management, on-site techs, as well as those techs that had to be reshuffled to travel to Baltimore on just a moment's notice. For the event that moved to Gaithersburg, it entailed striking the entire event, loading the equipment into two 26' trucks, performing a site survey at the new site and ultimately getting the equipment up and running so the meeting could continue at the new site.
In the client's eyes, the results were awesome. In all of our eyes, our Team is awesome!

"First off, I want to thank you for your help and support for yesterday's change in events. I truly appreciate the quick plan of action. Because of your efforts, we were able to transition to another venue quickly and efficiently.
I also need to note that Devo has been absolutely outstanding. We asked him and Brian to take the switching system and playback over to the theatre to kick off their afternoon meeting. Because of Devo, we had a seamless transition and a flawless first session in a "foreign" venue. His attitude and performance were fantastic.
We are greatly appreciative and it was even mentioned, during the opening sessions, how wonderful it was that we accomplished what we had yesterday. There was a great round of applause.
