Dr. Afaf Meleis held her deanship at Penn School of Nursing for more than a decade. During her tenure she tripled endowment, increased enrollment by 573, oversaw a major renovation of Fagin Hall and overhauled the nursing curriculum. She was a transformative dean, whose impact on the nursing profession will be felt for years to come. This event celebrated her accomplishments and legacy.
A fun and non-traditional environment that showcased Dean Meleis's enthusiastic, passionate, and colorful personality. This was to be an occasion that highlighted her impact and lasting impression on global women's health and nursing.
Dr. Amy Gutmann, President of the University of Pennsylvania, was also in need of a production company with the ability to take a program with many moving pieces and deliver seamless presentation support. IMS supported spoken word for Dr. Gutmann and other VIP presenters, a 26-piece high energy band, multiple student performances and presentations, a secret gift reveal and developed a platform for a movie premier.
IMS provided a custom lighting design that reflected the event theme and provided intelligent lighting that rose the energy level and got attendees up and dancing!
A 10'xl8' screen was erected center stage for a movie premier-esque feel. IMS also supplied a world-class Technical Director to interface with the client, all vendors, venue and VIP presenters. He also kept the rest of the technical staff on task and the client's mind at ease.
A seamlessly executed event of high-energy and passionate tributes that celebrated Dean Afaf Meleis's contributions to Penn Nursing, the University of Pennsylvania and to the nursing profession world-wide.
