Independence Blue Cross is the leading health insurer in Southeastern Pennsylvania, providing coverage to nearly 3.4 million people nationwide. IMS has been a proud partner to IBC for AV systems design and integration for several years. IBC’s Associate Health and Wellness Program is a premier employee based program striving for healthier lifestyles among IBC’s employees.
In 2008 with the help of IMS, IBC integrated a State of the Art 17,600 sq. ft. Health & Wellness Center at their Corporate HQ in Philadelphia PA to promote fitness among the company's 3000+ associates. The center is a full scale health club and fitness center, featuring: a spinning room, group exercise room, cardio and free weight fitness areas, men and women’s locker rooms, a massage center and a multi-purpose conference / distance learning room; each with dedicated AV systems that are centrally managed and controlled. The design build skills of IMS and early coordination with IBC, Partridge Architects and the various construction managers made this high level project very successful for all involved.
Multiple 37” LCD displays are strategically positioned throughout the main cardio fitness areas providing visual stimulation for the Associates. 5 different Cable TV signals can be routed to any number of the displays via a Matrix switching and routing system. TV audio is transmitted to personal headset devices on a secure transmission. The entire facility has an integrated house audio and paging system playing music from a variety of select-able sources:Muzak, CDs, MP3 or PCs. A Multi-Use High Definition Video Conference and Presentation Room is used daily for meetings, seminars and health related workshops; which IBC can broadcast via a Polycom HDX Video Conference system, to extend the reach of their health education programs. The entire facility has 4 unique Creston control systems that allow the center’s staff to easily and intuitively control all aspects of the Wellness Centers’ AV systems.
