Description
IMS Technology Services, LLC is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Accounting Manager for supporting the creation of a scalable, best-in-class finance and accounting department. Reporting to the CFO, this role has significant opportunity for growth in this dynamic, mid-market, PE-backed organization. You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting needs of the leading provider of event staging, systems integration, and managed service solutions. This full-time position is critical in shaping the company’s financial strategy and driving operational excellence. This position is expected to work from our Garnet Valley HQ 5 days a week.
Position Accountabilities and Expectations
Financial Reporting
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Ensure timely and accurate close of monthly financials
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting package to private equity sponsor
- Reconcile complex accounts, including revenue recognition and deferred revenue, within construction-based accounting percent of completion (POC) method
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the compilation of data and preparation of supporting schedules/analyses for the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts
- Work closely with FP&A to ensure that financial data is accurately reflected in forecasts
Audit and Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors for the annual financial statement audit, ensuring that all requests are met timely and accurately
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation and financial analyses as required
- Implement, maintain and monitor internal controls over financial reporting, particularly around POC, revenue recognition and expense management
Process Improvements and Optimization
- Drive process improvements to streamline the month-end close process, including automation of manual tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help refine accounting workflows for new products and services
Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with multi-state tax requirements
- Manage state sales tax filings and related reporting through an integration with Avalara
Collaboration and Communication
- Provide support and guidance on day-to-day accounting issues and challenges
- Collaborate with project managers in reviewing job costing for various projects and operational activities
- Collaborate with other relevant departments, to ensure accounting considerations are integrated into business decisions

What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- A minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as QuickBooks (Desktop Version) and/or other Cloud-based ERPs
- Thorough understanding of basic accounting processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to teams
- High sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to operate in a demanding environment
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly
- An ability to influence, lead and manage projects efficiently and effectively across functions and meet deadlines
